The final product
Well, two ideas because I couldn't decide:
As you can see the two ideas are very different. For the first one I wanted to do my own take on a standard cafe logo. I wanted it to include a mix of cool and warm colors that compliment each other well, specifically I wanted to use light yellow and light blue because I feel they are pleasing to the eye. The logo includes a coffee mug with brown sugar cubes sitting on a plate, and a chocolate chip cookie (made with brown sugar of course) for the O in Brown.
For my second logo (I couldn't choose) I wanted it to be some form of a cupcake but to still read Brown Sugar Cafe. I decided to attempt to make a cupcake in the form of lips to imply the word sugar. I'm not positive that I achieved that, but I still like the finish product. I chose to go with a dark red to imply lips and a red velvet cupcake at the same time.

My second assignment in my Digital Arts class is to compare and contrast two logos from two different companies that sell relatively the same product(s). Here goes:
These are two prominent chain Italian restaurants. As seen above both companies took advantage of red and green as complimentary colors that would balance each other out. However, they both chose to use more of the cool color green. No doubt to evoke images of earthly greens and herbs that go into making Italian food so yummy. Following in the theme of professional logos, they kept the theme tight and simple. In contrast, Carrabba's logo uses a limiting border, while Macaroni Grill logo does not. Macaroni Grill's logo also appears more organic because of the font used compared to the Carrabba's bordered font.

Digital Art
My first assignment in my beginning Digital Art class is to come up with five business ideas and create a logo for one of them. Here are my five ideas.
Logo Ideas:
Logo for café/bakery called Brown Sugar
Logo for website/app that helps a person budget/ plan for every aspect of a trip- This is for those who want to travel, but don't want to spend the time figuring out if they have the money. They can input the budget and some countries they are wanting to visit, and it will provide them with budget options on accommodations, food, and entertainment.
Logo for new fashion line named Made for Comfort
Logo for candy company called Sweetie Candy Company
Logo for art company called Unique Perspective: Submit art piece or art ideas and company creates or recreates it.

All about me.
My name is Milenda Clark, and I'm a Junior at UT in FL. I am currently pursuing a major in film and very excited about where this path goes. I know that creativity has to play a big role in whatever career path I end up in. Which is why I'm also pursuing a minor in Digital Art. What I love about art and why i'm pursuing a career in it is how subjective it is. Everyone has a voice and every voice matters
